  • Poster Child Productions set shows for Lincoln

    Poster Child Productions, the new production/promotion company established to bring shows to Lincoln, has announced a handful of shows this week, starting with this weekend’s Omaha Invasion. Read more on that elsewhere in Ground Zero.

    In chronological order, here are the rest of the upcoming Poster Child shows:

    * Royal Bangs with High Art and DJ Spence, April 19, Duffy’s.

    * Ha Ha Tonka with Kris Lager Band, April 29, Bourbon Theatre.

    * WARBEAST, Dead Echoes, May 4, Duffy’s.

    * Sleepy Sun with White Hills and Life of a Scarecrow, May 5, Bourbon.

    That’s an eclectic mix of music. Knoxville’s Royal Bangs delivers indie electro-pop. Ha Ha Tonka from Springfield, Mo., blends lonesome Ozark mountain music and southern rock with the energetic edge of college rock. WARBEAST brings thrash metal from Texas, and Northern California’s Sleepy Sun already is a local fave with its soulful, kinda bluesy pop.

    We’ll have more on these shows closer to the dates, but it’s worth noting Poster Child is doing its best to add a layer of bigger shows to Lincoln’s already thriving music scene. A suggestion: If one of the shows sounds interesting, check it out.
